Bold Design with Clean Lines and a Touch of Nature

Perched on a wooded hilltop just outside Kansas City, this Smithville renovation reimagines a family home with intention. It becomes a clean and bold interior rooted in warmth, clarity, and modern simplicity. From the moment you enter, the home opens up, resulting in a striking balance between openness and structure.

The kitchen is the heart of this home, with a bold green island that anchors the space. It is not just a color choice. It is a sculptural moment designed for gathering. Crisp white surfaces and streamlined cabinetry offer contrast, while brass fixtures and oversized pendant lighting add dimension and visual intrigue. This constant push and pull between minimalism and expression defines the overall design. Nothing feels too stark here. Everything works together with intention.

Even scale plays a central role throughout. The tall baseboards, large format tile, and bold light fixtures bringing structure and presence to every space. Clean lines abound thanks to wide plank wood floors and wide beams encasing the dining room. Vaulted ceilings and generous windows fill the space with natural light.

Surrounded by trees, the home connects deeply to its natural setting. Every room feels airy and quiet, yet never empty or cold.
